Preparation is important, but there comes a time when you just need to set off...

It's been an on-and-off few months as we've finished our beta release, tried out the site with a few testers, gathered feedback, squashed bugs and tried to decide "What next?". Today, we're setting off on our journey.

The site is live with public sign-up fully opened up.

You can sign up with Twitter, Facebook, or good old fashioned email.

We've launched with support for a number of hill collections, including Hewitts, Birketts, Marilyns, Wainwrights, Munros, and Nuttalls. If you upload a walk that visits any of the hills in those collections they'll be logged against your personal profile so you can see how you're doing, you may even earn badges for your hard work!

If we're missing your favourite hill collection - just let us know.

What's next?

We've got a few more things planned. There are a couple of bits of the site that are a little neglected, so we'll be tidying them up over the next month or so.

We know that plenty of you will already be using activity tracking apps to track your walks, so the site already supports exported route files from apps like Strava, Endomondo and RunKeeper. However, we also want to make it easy as possible for users to track, and blog their walks, so there's an app in the works for the site. If you're happy to beta test - let us know via the Contact link in the site footer.

Your feedback

We're also keen to take on board feedback from our users, so please do give the service a try and let us know what you think!
