We've tried to keep logging your walks as simple as possible. There are two main stages:

  • Logging details of your walk
  • Attaching your photos

To log your walk, just hit the Track it link in the site header. If you have a route file you can use that to create your walk. We support GPX files which you can export from common tracking apps like Strava, Endomondo or RunKeeper (our own app will be out later this year). If you have a GPX file, then choose "From a route file", and carry on below. Otherwise - jump down to "Logging a walk manually".

Logging walk from a route file

Logging from a route file is the best option. Simple provide your walk title, your blog content, and upload your GPX file. We'll analyse the route file for you, pick out the walk date, and  all of the hills you've visited on your walk, as well as storing the route for display alongside your blog post.

Once you've submitted your walk title, post content, and route file, your walk is live on the site. The only thing left to do is upload images from your walk. Again we'll analyse these, and plot them along your route if your camera has recorded position information in the images. We'll use your first image as the header image for the walk blog post - but you can change that at any time by hitting the "Manage images" link on the walk page when logged in.

Logging walk manually

Logging a walk manually is similar to using a route file (in fact you can still provide one if you want). However you have to provide the date of your walk, and the hills that you covered. Just start typing the fell names and you'll be given auto-complete suggestions for matching hills.

Once you've provided the title, date, blog content, and hills, simply submit the post and it will be live. The only thing left to do is upload images from your walk. Again we'll analyse these, and plot them along your route if your camera has recorded position information in the images. We'll use your first image as the header image for the walk blog post - but you can change that at any time by hitting the "Manage images" link on the walk page when logged in.
